What should you expect when you go to a Wolverines Show?
Expect them to meet you at the door and expect to leave with a smile on your face<..... What happens in between depends on WHO (the audience is), WHERE (in the world the show is) and WHEN (morning, noon or night). These guys give “made-to-measure” entertainment from their extensive repertoire of originals, contemporary country rock & retro classics. They select for the specific audience, be it kids, families, adults or perhaps sailors, bikers or party animals! Since releasing their first single in 1994 the Wolverines have produced 8 CDs & a DVD and travelled the length & breadth of Australia & as far afield as Afghanistan & Iraq performing. Wolverines' gigs are as diverse as the music they play... They’re in hot demand for Pub, Club and Casino gigs, Festivals & Conferences, Country Shows and Rodeos, Races (camel, bike, yacht & horse), Fishing Comps & Bike Rallies, B&S Balls, Bike and Truck Shows, Sailing Regattas, Corporate and Private events. Career highlights include: Performing in the Middle East for the Australian & UN troops & the US Marines in Okinawa. Recording 65 Roses and raising both funds & awareness for Cystic Fibrosis. Fundraising on Sail for CF Kids Tour sailing a yacht up the East Coast Being part of the Annual Wolverines Poker Run raising money for the kids’ charities. With multiple albums & multiple awards to their credit, these multi-talented musicians combine to produce a unique & versatile entertainment experience. They are fun, funny & irreverent, highly musical & totally entertaining. Their musical style ranges from original Country Rock through to Retro Classicsl. Their look has been described as “hirsute highway” & “corporate feral”. Their outlook on life is serious tongue-in-cheek & they want to share it with everyone! 2011 saw the Wolverines back touring with their ABC released CD & DVD “The Very Best of the Wolverines”, 2012 they were part of Cruisin’ Country’s line up on “Rhapsody of the Seas “ and 2014 they performed at their 21st consecutive Tamworth Music Festival. 2014 also brought a major change- keyboard player, Chris Doyle, sadly retired from the band. After much deliberation Darcy & John selected Shane Nichamin, vocals & bass, and Darren Lane, vocals & keyboard to continue the Wolverines’ sound. Both with a wealth of experience, Shane (Shot to Pieces and Acousticatz) and Darren (Transtar & Wade Jackson and the Champions League) are successful, talented musicians & songwriters. So the Wolves are heading for a revitalised future- all the favourites plus some surprises to come!
